The Musician

Independant working at home
When I was playing with the band I made some work on another song. I wanted to do something like Dream Theater's songs, I think they are the best rock band on the world. What I do is record some bases using the great Fast Tracker II, once I worked the bases I recorded some samples from my guitar and I created a solo for the last part. As the song is quite long (4MB), I include three samples of the song on a lower quality to give you an idea of what you will download. Each sample is recorded in mono, 22Khz which make them take a length of less than 100Kb. The complete song is in stereo 44Khz.
  • The fist sample contains the main melody. It uses a great lead sound I ripped from Skaven's music for the demo Second Reality (maybe he rippped it too :).Download.
  • The second sample contains some of the middle part of the song. It's somewhat heavier than first, but this was one of the first parts I made for the song.Download.
  • The last sample is a chop of the final guitar solo. The guitar tooks me a lot of time to record because I don't have a full duplex sound card, so, make the solo fit with the song was quite difficult for me. Download.
Now you have a little idea of what about the song is. But, if you want amore detailed description, here it is: first I make a little intro, I wanted it to begin with a powerful pattern, to make you say "hey, come on!". After that I put the main melody (sample 1), where the chorused guitar used on the right channel is a sample of mine. After that, I enter a powerful part with a variation of the tempo, so I speed up the song (sample 2). Then, it falls into a part I wanted to use with the band, but we never used it. After that, I fall into the main melody again, but with a little variation. Finally is the guitar solo (sample 3).
At the beginning of the solo, I use something I call an anti-copy phrase, I don't want that any child that plays Nirvana think about trying to play my solo :). The rest of the solo is just a japanese like melody. Put attention on the base, I think the mix between the chords, bass and pedal is something not so common, is beatiful :).
Yes, I want to download the song
